Conti is developing the Accra Sanitary Sewer and Storm Water Drainage Alleviation Project to benefit Ghana’s economy, public health and flood protection systems and worldwide image. Collaborating directly with the Ghanaian government and the US Export-Import Bank, the company is conducting feasibility studies to determine project details.
Conti’s work in Ghana involves large-scale environmental remediation of Accra’s sewer and sanitation system as well as its flood protection measures. The $660 million undertaking would be the largest infrastructure project in Ghana’s history.
Hon. Dr. Alfred Oko Vanderpuye, mayor of Accra, stated upon project commencement that he is committed to making Accra the “greenest and finest city in Africa,” and this project is a large step in that direction. Conti is helping to achieve this goal by working closely with the government to shape critical aspects of the project to deliver the best results.
“Or role as international project developer allows us to provide clients with the entire solutions,” said Conti’s Chairman, Kurt Conti, “And we are honored to use our expertise to help Ghana modernize Accra, stimulate its economy and improve the quality of living for millions of people.”
